In South Africa “Machan” is a term that is used to describe a raised platform, often found in a tree to view wildlife. That is exactly what Dan and Darlene had in mind when they designed this unique space. The Machan is built around the majestic oak trees on the Asante property. Recently completed and beautifully landscaped, it is an incredible lodging experience. The outdoor walkways, bamboo walls and thatched ceilings with African décor are a real treat! Relax on the outdoor seating located on the wrap-around porch where you can see a variety of African or Native Texas wildlife. Ideal for a weekend getaway or honeymoon night; perfect for two!

“My husband surprised me by booking the Machan at Asante. Every detail of the suite was amazingly planned out. The designers didn’t miss a thing! You feel as though you are on a safari with the beautiful photos and décor. We watched the wild game out of the window in the early morning and star gazed off the deck at night under a full moon. We were fortunate that the main house was available, so we were able to use the swimming pool and hot tub during the day. The grounds are well manicured, the bird and butterflies were abundant. We can’t wait for our next stay at Asante!”
